Our Vision

The Journey Began With A Vision…

For many years, Dr. Lennox Walker Senior Pastor of the Praise Cathedral Worship Centre Inc., had a vision to use funeral service as a ministry to serve his community. With his elevation to the position of Administrative Bishop for the Church of God in Ontario, his desire became more intense.

Dr. Walker is a member of the Black Ministries Council for the Church of God International.

Dr. Walker, having communicated his vision to his board of directors lead by chairman Donovan McLean , wanted to establish a Christian -based sanctuary to serve Mississauga and the greater Toronto area communities.

In order to make his vision a reality, he knew that he needed an ally with expertise in the funeral services industry. Relying on his strong Christian faith, Dr. Walker prayed for the right person to join him on this venture. The answer came in the form of Shelley Challenger, an established brand with an aligned vision.

Ms. Challenger is an acclaimed licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer with over a decade of experience, who has earned many accolades for her talents and wealth of knowledge.

New Haven Funeral Centre offers Christian faith services in a uniquely designed, contemporary-elegant, boutique style facility. The team focuses on caring for the deceased while protecting the well-being and faith of those left behind.

New Haven ministers beyond funeral services by offering Christian grief counselling, last rites, mediation services, prayer requests, pastoral support networks, receptions (repass) and cultural gatherings, concierge services, health/wellness/real estate seminars, and anti-violence workshops . Our first class approach to enhance community wealth & education through estate and insurance planning is our give-back to you.

It is our mission to bring God back to funeral services, by providing a new standard of ministry for the Christian faith communities.
